I was hoping that 5 digits codes across the board was an option. but how to modify the formula to account for that without turning all of the zip codes into a 5 digit code, is a completely different thing. Logically, i understand WHY it is stopping at 83800, or 99400, etc. I think that the problem is the range is stopping at 83800, and not continuing to 83899.ĩ1304 to 83800 pulls the correct zone. Will be quite a feat.Īs far as the error that I am getting on the above with 91304 to 83854. i will definitely look into it, and do by best to format it all. What would be the best way to go about doing this? At this point it is something we are looking to do ONLY for ground shipping, but in theory, would be wanting to do for express as well (possibly have each service on a different tab?) Obviously, i realize that 708 charts at 211 (+/-) lines each chart, is A LOT of data. But shipping from 91311 to 73301 would be a zone 6. So in looking at the attached file, we would look at shipping from 91311 to 91605 would be a Zone 2. I have attached a sample of what ONE of the 708 different possible zone charts would be (tab 91000-91899) and what we would want the final calculations to look like (tab zone calc)

Everything is based on the first 3 digits of a zip code. What I want to create is the ability to type in two random zip codes in excel, and have there be a calculation done through excel to tell me what zone the shipment would be considered. Both UPS and FedEx have different zone charts (not provided by this tool) for air shipping and for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.UPS and Fedex both have zone calculators available where I can type in my starting zip code, and the website will tell us based off of that initial zip what shipping "zone" other parts of the country are in. Please Note: The zones provided by this tool are valid for USPS and, for the most part, ground shipping with UPS and FedEx. Just type the first three digits of your zip code and click the “GET ZONE CHART” button. This chart contains all of the zone numbers from any starting zip code entered. You only need the first three digits of any zip code to make it work. Be aware, however, that the zone number is not the only factor used in calculating cost.įor your convenience, this tool generates a zone chart for any valid U.S. The farther two zip codes are from each other, the higher the zone number and, consequently, the higher the shipping costs. There are seven different zone numbers, 2-7. The shipping zone number represents the relative distance between two zip codes, so for any two zip codes in the United States, there is a corresponding zone number. UPS, FedEx and the United States Postal Service all use shipping zones to calculate shipping costs.
